I'm researching my great-granfather Samuel Rumble and wondering if anyone has any information about him. I know he moved from Wiltshire to Liverpool in the late 1800's with his second cousin Edward Box and worked for Edward Box & Co as foreman I believe. The only information I have about his life as a Traction Engine Driver is from a book by Tam McTaggart called The Big Box, so if anyone can shed any light on him it would be much appreciated. I have been told that there is a book on the history of traction engines that details his life and career but as yet have not been able to even find a title for it! Thanks for any information you can provide.
